My main sax that I have a special relationship with, you might understand! 16lbs, gold plated Bb that has a great buzz and almost a tenor touch to it. I’ve had it fully broken down and fitted at Sax Worx, San Francisco (top talent there). I got it in trade for painting a music store, they valued it at $3,500 but the only other one I’ve found a price for was $8K and I need to get it insured I realize now while writing this. The lightweight is the big thing that makes it work so well. I use the largest sized PROTEC neck strap (same as Emilo Castillio). I’ve got a Berg Larsen woodgrained ebonite mouthpiece (half price clearance on their website!) I use a 2.5 reed usually. I’ve just moved to Alabama and am marching in my first Mardi Gras parades in Mobile in ’15. What an experience just learning the traditional jazz heads…more later if I get video from that.
