      I’m counting out the beats for “Please Come Home For Christmas”. 8th note gets a beat, 6 beats a measure.Dotted quarter note = 1 2 3. Using a cut time speed. 1st measure Ding Ding (for 123 123). 2nd measure= Ding Da Dat DaDa) 3rd measure Da Dah. So first three measures go like this Ding Ding Ding Ding Da Dat DaDa Da Dah. Hope this makes sense

        if you’re going to use a metronome, don’t set it to 6 beats per measure.

        Set the metronome to 2 beats per measure.

        What you find is you play in a better swing style with metronome 2 beats per measure.

        If you play with metronome 6 beats per measure you end up sounding very robotic and dull.
