Good for you Tim and thanks for joining us!
Whether you decide on alto or tenor you’ll love it as they each have their own thing… I guess it always boils down to which sound you really like best.

Personally, I’m not familiar with the Bauhaus, obviously German made which could be a good sign, but I can vouch for the Trevor James horns as being very nice to play and well made.

      good luck!
      Johnny

Yep, you rumbled me! Rode a Ducati 750 for a few years before rupturing a spinal disc playing rugby. Couldn’t get on with the riding position after that so traded it in for a ZZR1200, which Mrs Kneedown loved as she could go more than 50 miles on the back without getting sore!
Currently without a bike though after selling the ZZR to pay for the Caribbean Cruise i promised her for her 50th Birthday. Looking at Moto Guzzi’s for the next one though.

Thanks to all for the warm welcome!

Awesome–I just started to learn how to play the Sax too as Johnny is awesome and is a great help. Planning on getting a one-one-one lesson with him though the cpu in time soon to come! Glad you’re here on this site too.

Thanks again to all for the warm welcome!

                I now have my baby!
In the end I paid a bit more for a Yamaha YTS280. Tried the Trevor James (Beautiful Sound!) and two Bauhaus’s. The Yam sounded as good as the TJ but the action seemed that little more positive, which i thought might be better for a beginner like me.
Had a couple of lessons from my Son-in-Laws band mate so he could see first hand what i’m doing right and wrong! Along with this site and loads of practice i’m thoroughly enjoying it and am looking forward to making progress.

                Regards to all,

                Tim.

Congrats Tim, sounds like you made a good decision with your horn.
Do you have a mouthpiece with it?

It came with the standard Yamaha plastic 4c mouthpiece.
