      here’s an interesting exercise.

      Take any music sheet and don’t transpose it into other keys (scales) because the tune will just sound the same but in a different key.

      Instead looking at the same page of the music sheet pretend its written in a key different to the key shown on the page and play the notes you read as if you were playing them un-transposed.

      If you do that, expect it to completely mess up the tune, however in the process you will hear new phrases that you’ve never heard before some of them awful and some unusually quite unusual and interesting phrases to hear. like it a new sound you’ve never heard before.
