lots of fun to play & riff over; great job Johnny on the track & sheet music. thx for writing out wide trill intervals (that would be a good lesson topic too; eg how do you finger the A/F# trill?).

Herbie’s tunes like this, chameleon & cantaloupe island are perfect for learning improv; easy-to-learn header & catchy tune.

yes I think I may have done that lesson but will do another one on that kind of trill as it has different cool variations.

thx…. been playing this all week, its fun to improv over; also sounds good w/heavy echo reverb playing over. i run backing tracks into a mixer, mic my horn thru reverb boss ve-20 fx unit & its so much more fun to play that way; mixer out into sony 7506 headphones; like gigging w/audio stage sound for practice… imho its the most fun way tp practice; 10000% better than playing horn alone/dry

sounds like you got some fun toys JC
the heavy echo idea reminds me of John Clemmer, a sax player I heard in the 70’s that really used that effect a lot.
