I thought the shape was a little different. The TLM 107 is a nice mic though! Nice self noise and signal/noise. Nice flat frequency response with a little boost. Sounds great!

ya, when I used the AKG 10000 I always boosted some frequencies to make my sax sound right in the recording but with this one I rarely touch anything. It’s very good for sax. I figured any mic good for vocals will also work great on sax.

If you’re looking for a very reasonably priced, large diaphragm condenser mic you might look at the Stellar X2 and/or X3. They’ve been compared with the Neumann U47 and are priced between $265 and $350 each.

Thanks for the tip Mike! I’ve ordered the stellar x2 vintage, just to see what it’s like. I don’t mind paying those prices for my novice standard of playing.
