I heard him play the ewi in a concert years ago.
Sounds great, apparently you can change the sound to sound like other wind instruments. They sell them in my local music shop, and i’ve had the opportunity to try one out in the shop – but to me its like sticking a plastic reed on a sax. Just a matter of personal choice.
yes I did try one many years ago, and saw Michael Brecker play one live (he did a lot of playing on it)
it’s a stick with flut/sax like fingering that connects to a synthesizer so whatever sounds your synth can produce it will play. you then have the capability of doing note bends etc with your embouchure pressure. it’s fun, I guess not fun enough for me to stay with it tho.
