i stopped having sugar in tea and coffee decades ago, but i do have sugar in coffee in a cafe because i find the taste too strong.

I also stopped having butter or margarine on bread years ago, after i read an article by a famous heart surgeon in S Africa, what it does to your arteries.

Good points, i need to rein in tucking into cake & biscuits during the daytime, before my beer belly turns into a keg.

I find a 30 min exercise or a brisk 1hr wslk clears the brain.

One thing I discovered which might have relevance here is swimming. It’s a great exercise aerobically of course, and the water means there’s less strain on your joints which is not the case with a lot of activity.

More importantly (haha) is that it might help our breathing for the sax. When swimming, you take a short sharp breath, and then release it slowly, much like the sax. And by taking less breaths for each stroke I guess you can improve your stamina. All I know is one day after swimming, I did a work out on the sax, and felt a lot more in control of my breathing.
