This year in my quest to improve my timing when playing sheet music.
my teacher has got me transcripting simple well known songs in my head (eg jingle bells etc..) onto paper – not in terms of pitch, but getting the correct note types written on papper eg a 1/4 note a dotted 8th note etc..

does anyone else do this? and if so, have you found it useful in improving your sheet playing timing?
