Thanks Johnny, you’re videos are a great help. I DO HAVE AN IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR YOU ABOUT ARTICULATION: I have been to local music shops to see if I can work with someone on articulation and local music shops don’t seem to have anyone who can work with me on the Sax 🙁 It’s all guitar, drums, etc.. I was told that articulation is with the tip of the tongue but I think I saw a youtube videos of your’s that shows it’s not the tip of the tongue but kind of with the top(of the tip) of the tongue. I’ve tried practicing with the tip of the tongue as the music shops told me and it doesn’t seem to sound quite right. Help me out here.
To say that articulation is with the tip of the tongue is a pretty short and incomplete answer.
Articulation means how we play a note, group of notes or a lick or phrase etc.
There are 3 ways we can play a note:
tongue it
no tongue at all
very short quick tongue
These all come into play and that’s how you will develop articulation.
Watch a free video lesson I did to demonstrate this a little better than I can do here:
