Hello and welcome, glad you found the site and good luck with your sax. Let us know how you make out or if you have any questions.
Johnny
Hey Newbtsax, sounds like were neighbors, I live here in Arkansas and I’m 40 years old too LOL. I have just finished Johnny’s ebook that you just bought and take it from me: It’s the best ebook on how to really, really learn the fundamentals of the Saxophone; all for the price of a large Pizza from our local Little Ceaser’s Pizza shop 🙂 He could have easily sold it for way more. There’s other book out there but they only teach you a little of this and a little of that, slim pickings to say the least.
Don’t worry about how long it takes you to finish his ebook, rather focus on learning everything right. Trying to get through it as fast as you can, just because were so excited to finally start learning to play the Saxophone, will only lead to developing bad habits that are hard to break. Don’t be afraid to ask Johnny/other members questions; that’s what he’s here for. Also, take advantage of all the lessons that Johnny offers here on his home page, they really go well with his ebook.
As a beginner Sax players, realize that were going to make LOADS of mistakes. Don’t let those get you down, because it will if you let it. The belief of many, as I had personally been told, is that the Saxophone is “easy” to play. NOTHING could be further from the truth. It takes a lot of work but the rewards are awesome. Looking forward to hearing more from you, nice to have you here!
Welcome!
