Nice to have you here—looks like you have a background in music already; that’s a real plus. Really nice that you’re starting to learn to play the saxophone, alto is definitely a great place to start. You may have heard that the saxophone is “easy” to learn–When it comes to the fingering/learning the keys in comparison to others instruments like you show here…it is. But learning to play the sax goes WAY BEYOND just learning the fingering. I would encourage you to get Johnny’s ebook “How to Play the Saxophone-a beginner’s guide” as it is a wonderful way to learn the fundamentals of playing the sax. Knowing the keys on the Piano is definitely a plus(he talks about that in his ebook I recommend you get) for you in the way of transposing your own music to play on the Saxphone, as the alto is an Eb sax. Here’s a link to one of Johnny’s videos that explains this a little bit more–looking forward to seeing you play some sax music! http://youtu.be/dZT4gO–KuY
