The bike is an entry level bike in other words cheap to make,
the sax is one of Yamaha top saxes, I have a Yamaha tenor custom zs
it cost me £4000 I have a Yamaha bike to by the way.
I assume 8800 is in rands what would that be in £s.

        Hi Peter

I guess it all depends on one’s definition of cheap and professional! Perhaps what we are really paying for is the label?

At todays exchange rate R88000 is about #4960 UK Pounds. I was just thinking about the engineering work involved to manufacture the frame, high performance engine and even the exhaust tubes which are also designed to specification. Being much heavier and larger, the import cost should also be very much higher than the sax.

If the YZF-R3 doesn’t appeal to you, you can have the MT07 ABS for R100 000 or the XVS950 Bolt for R115 000 which is about the same price as a Selmer pro sax now.

That ‘bolt’ is just perfect for a nut like me!
