The pursuit of perfection is endless!
It sounds better than Tonestro! Love it! What a talent you have!
Yayayayayah ya ba bup hmmm ya
My comment is some notes are sounding fuzzy almost like electronic organ yet there is a good resonance and breathy crisp tone all the while throughout the air; mayhap some dynamics with sound volume(s) could be worth a swing, maybe some flutter tounge and side key embellishments too.
It grows as it goes.
Excellent work.

July 2, 2025 at 11:51 pm #125420Hi Mark, I presume you are talking about the trumpet sections. The trumpet is rasping in the original tune, and I was trying to simulate that by growling. It’s quite tricky to growl through a whole bunch of bars, unless you’re very thirsty and riding a Harley motorcycle. I have to learn where to play softer and louder. Thanks for the feedback.
July 3, 2025 at 4:38 am #125421Try lowering the microphone 6 to 12 inches below the bell – to get the lower sax range notes to sound more louder, as the middle to high sax notes are playing too loud compared to the very low notes.
Rather than wasting time doing another recording, go into your daw and just raise the volume of all the low notes.
Also, believe it or not, but it is a fact. Do another recording, and when you play from the music sheet, play the 1st note in every bar a lot louder, and the remaining notes in a bar, play at various random less louder sound levels. This will make your recording sound a lot less monotonous, imagine listening to a bee’s droning sound, well you don’t want to copy that. Again, It’s up to you, what you do, your personal preference so to speak.

July 10, 2025 at 8:04 am #125459So my original post & recording is deleted? That’s it, I’m finished!
So long and thanks for all the fish.
July 11, 2025 at 6:34 am #125467Hi Jeff. 🙂
It can be seen that everybody’s first comment has been deleted somehow in the Forum of late, this is a technical hiccup, all the while John’s technician will fix it up ya.
~ Thanks for the oppor-tuna-ty.

A guy just finished his plastik surgery and his surgeon leads him in his office to discuss the surgery…
The surgeon asks if he wants the good news or bad news first.
The man excitedly replies, “I’ll take the good news first.”
The surgeon tells him, “well you’re about to get a new dog.”

July 19, 2025 at 1:14 pm #125515Hi Mark, this is a really nice tune. I’ve printed out the notation and play it regularly; but I’m reminded of my lack of smoothness and poor timing when comparing my sound to the recording. It is more than a little frustrating when these artists make it sound so effortless – LOL – As Dr Wally says – GO PRACTICE
