fantastic – thanks for posting that one Tim!

I’ve got ‘Jimmy Dorsey Saxophone Method – a school of rhythmic saxophone playing’ book – and it’s a tough one for me to work – he doesn’t take any prisoners!

it’s aimed at dance band music playing – with lots of rhythmic sax playing exercises. The last half of the book covers improvising with lots of chord exercises.

at the end of the book it has music for-
          ‘Oodles of noodles’
          ‘Tailspin’
          ‘waddlin at the waldorf’
          ‘dusk in sandusky’

It just lots of technical exercises with emphasis on developing sight reading technic!

If i could play everything in that book – i would be on the dance band crowd for sure!

JB: The skill of these guys is amazing. In 33 Jimmy was 28 years old. He passed in 1957 after recording So Rare at 57 years. Too bad!
