Looking at the JLV picture. I wonder if the ligature is mounted the right way round? It seems like the long fingers may be pressing against the vibrating part of the reed.
Either that or it is positioned too high up the MP. Surely the ligature shouldn’t damp the reed’s action as we use lip control for that?
