I’m actually working on 2 of these that you have listed from this book–one is Johnny’s song “Just the Way You Are”; got it about 3/4 done and will upload it after I get the Alto serviced at the repair shop; getting is serviced now between July and August. The other is “How Deep Is Your Love” by the Bee Gees–really nice Saxophone song. I’m going to do “How Deep is Your Love” as a Saxophone duet with the Alto Sax for main lyrics and Tenor doing backing vocals and some parts where both Saxophones are played together in unison. This coming week, probably next weekend, I will be uploading something to the blog using this “duet” format; it’s really fun. There’s a song of Johnny’s that I’m learning right now that I will also do as a “duet” with both Alto and Tenor, computer screen split in 2 with one Saxophone on 1 side and the other Saxophone on other side. I will be uploading Johnny’s song before uploading How Deep is Your Love. Making duet-type of uploads for the blog/personal enjoyment opens up a lot of possibilities/combinations–Soprano with Tenor, Soprano with Alto, Baritone coming into play too! 🙂 If you have 2 different kinds of Saxophones, get creative and give it a try; great fun 🙂

I might get a tenor sax one day!
I’m now into my 8 month of playing.
In my last Sax lesson, my teacher advised me
to stop willy nilly (not in those exact words)
        swapping mouthpieces. Use one mouthpiece
and stick to it, something to do with your mind expects
to hear a specific sound in relation to your embouchure
before you even play it! By changing mouthpieces
disrupts the process, as a pro he reckons it takes
a week to 2 weeks for your embouchure/inner ear to
adjust to the tones being played.
So based on his advice to a beginner its given
me a valid reason not to get a tenor, and i’ve decided
to stick to my metal mouthpiece from now on.
I’d rather spend all my efforts in trying to master one beast
        than juggle 2 beasts! lol
I apply the same pricipal to the guitar – i only play the same guitar.
Whereas i have friends with 5 or 6 guitars each costing
the price of a good selmar and they cant part with them.
In my case new guitar – dump the old one, let someone
        else use it.
