Hey Vinny, cool that you’re here on this site now. You’re already headed in the right direction just by joining this site; so awesome you did that. If you’re really wanting to learn how to play the Sax, I strongly recommend that you purchase Johnny’s ebook here on this site/home page “How to play the Saxophone” It tells you everything you need to know to learn the fundamentals of playing the Sax. Another plus towards buying his ebook, which costs less than buying a Pizza, is that you have access to Johnny here on this site and he’s more than willing to help you with questions/concerns you may have. Also, you will find a wealth of information here on the home page under “Saxophone Lessons”. Just start at the very beginning and progress through as you progress in your playing. I would recommend that you practice the lessons you find on the home page in conjunction with his ebook together, which is what I did. Back in the spring, I was EXACTLY where you are at now. I’m approaching the end of Johnny’s ebook-just learning the major scales/exercises to go with those scales and then I’m starting his next book on how to play Killer Blues. So believe me when I tell you: it’s a worth while investment.

No problem–you can click on the link on the top of this page that says “Saxophone Lessons”. It will then take you to the home page–scroll down and look on the right side of the page underneath the welcome video by Johnny. You’ll see the picture of the cover to the book. Click on that picture. After you paid for it, paypal will automatically send you to a link where you download the ebook. You have to right-click the mouse to choose where on your cpu you want it downloaded to. Choose where you want it to go and just download the ebook from there. If all else fails just post on the forum here, very first category that deals with downloads and he’ll make sure you get it.

This is great. I am just reading the E book to get an idea of what I am looking at and look forward to being able to read music, positioning my fingers and hands in correct areas, and start playing .

Hey vinzeno1, sounds like you’re having fun already for sure; that’s great to hear because that’s what it’s all about. Make sure you really take your time going through How to Play the Saxophone ebook–and when I say really take your time; REALLY take your time. Quality practices are way more important than just trying to get through it as fast as you can; and you’ll be way better off in the long run. It also helps to ensure that you don’t develop bad habits, which will be hard to break later on. If you look around pg. 70 of that book, you’ll find the major scales; which is what I’m learning now. It’s taken me about 5 months to get there–everyone is different–I’ve learned 7 of them and working on the 8th major scale that Johnny shows in the book. So basically I’m using the rest of this year to go from those major scales to the end/finish the book. Even though that’s only a little bit over 20 pages to go, those pages contain A WEALTH of important information. The biggest mistake I could make would be to blast through it. See my point? Keep us posted on your progress!
