I Was Made To Love Her Backing Tracks

(Stevie Wonder)

Watch video to hear Johnny’s instrumental sax version:

I Was Made To Love Her Saxophone Music

This Motown classic from 1967 was written and originally recorded by Stevie Wonder.

As a saxophone player I just fell in love with the instrumental version I discovered years ago by the king of rock and roll sax, King Curtis, one of my all-time favorites.

I recorded this backing track as heard in the video to emulate the King Curtis version which keeps some of the Motown groove of Stevie’s original but has the addition of the horn section and of course the variation of melody from the instrumental sax version originally recorded by Curtis also around 1967. He often recorded instrumental sax versions for many of the big hits of the day.

The version here is in the concert key of F. This means G for tenor and D for alto.
