I was working on “Another Saturday Night” moving on to “The Boulevard of Broken Dreams” and to day it’s “Wave” by Jobim. Hard to stick with one piece of music.
Hard when there’s so many great tunes, William, keep on stickin’ on!
Good one Saxomonica,
I’ll be practicing WAVE today by Jobim
how does on count a Bossa Nova beat?
Hi William, see if this page can help you.

i just checked out the piano groove website for the jazz side, the free stuff is quite good.
I’m still WAVING with Stan Getz
Thanks Jeff. I listened to the piano Bossa Nova. There’s a lot to contend with, the count, the beat, the rhythms, the melody, the saxophone keys, and on down the road man and boy. I ordered some Stan Getz music. When I use Stan Getz the melody gets lost in tricky fingering.
Hi William, it looks like a very tricky rhythm to play. One chap said that we have to first master the Samba before tackling Bossa Nova.
I think you’re very brave, but you do live closer to Brazil. I’m still trying to get my ordinary 4/4 timing constant – lol.
6/8 timing – that’s tricky, you can either count 6 beats to a bar or 2 beats to the bar. If you play and count 6 beats or play and count 2 beats, they can change the way you groove along the beat, especially if the drummer is play 2 beats to the bar,
