I drove 45 minutes out into the country to play a Christmas party gig for a group of 60 people. I was setting up and when I opened my case, I realized that I had left my ligature setting on a table at my gig earlier that day. It was locked in a building over an hour away. So I had to improvise.

I asked my hostess if she had any rubber bands. And I started wrapping them around the mouthpiece. 6 wide rubber bands and my synthetic reed. Worked like a champ for 3 hours. Did not have to touch it.
