yes, tighten it slightly, just enough to hold the reed on securely. Over tightening it will choke your reed and make it hard to play properly
that is what I was experiencing . I am hoping that it was that and not the mouthpiece. This can get expensive. Sorry for the elementary question.
Also, I am looking at a Vintage Claude Lakey 4*4 Alto mouthpiece from the 1970’s I here that these are pretty good . Vinny
