First of all thanks for the heads up regarding the backing track stuff. The Careless Whisper info page had an error (fixed now) and so there is no 2nd backing track with sax solo mixed in as it said so you are not missing a track. There was such a track on another song and I must have copied and pasted that part of the info and didn’t make the correction at the time.

I will have a look at Yakety Sax and make any corrections i can. It was one of my very first projects and I can’t believe I was doing things like omitting titles and repeat signs! Well, that was a couple of years ago and a few dozen songs later I am getting better at these things. Let me know if you want to download the copy with corrections and I’ll resend you the link.

I hear what you’re saying about soprano. I found it the toughest as well. Love the feel and sound but getting it perfectly in tune on the high register wasn’t easy and I never did find the perfect mp for it, now mine is gone. I wouldn’t discourage anyone from choosing it as a main instrument, just know it requires a little more time to sound good on it, at least from my experience.

The recording part of it is something I am quite involved in and have been at it for almost as long as playing sax. I’m not too techy as far as engineering goes but I am able to do what I want to do and that’s lay down ideas and record myself on any instrument that I can play. So, for recording I may be able to give you some advice that will help you at least get on your way.
Welcome here and your input and comments are always appreciated.
      cheers
      Johnny
