      There is a section/lesson video in my How To Play The Saxophone about this, since it is a common and sometimes difficult problem to get over this break on the sax.

      Just take the note C# and hit it from the upper and lower notes. Slowly, giving it lots of air and make sure your fingering is quick and accurate. You will start to have the problem less and less as you concentrate on these points and do it over and over.

        Hi Lucy.

        I’m pretty much a beginner but have played other instruments. As Johnny says, slow and accurate is the way to go, before building up the speed. I create my own exercises and just play them over and over, but variation is the key with different tempos and note values and maybe tonguing and not tonguing.
