Hey Guys…When your reeds don’t play right out of the box…DON’T THROW THEM AWAY!!!!…Get a drill and a 1/4″ drill bit and drill into the reed about an 1/8 ” deep..This will loosen up the cane…..DO NOT DRILL THRU THE REED….if you do…the reed won’t work…..i know it sounds CRAZY…but it does work….you should be able to save some reeds by doing this…it doesn’t work on all reeds.,,KEEP ROCKIN….!!!!!…..

Hi bb55chevy, thanks for the suggestion. It’s not something I would have thought of. Substandard reeds can have different responses. Are there any specific symptoms this idea works best for?

        Cheers

        Al
