Really enjoying doing this lesson 1. – i shall probably spend a month on it ie only about 1/2hr a day.
At the moment i’m only doing this course as a form of relaxtion/wind down after a couple of hours sax practice. So for me its good form of escapism!
wow – just shows how slow i am,
todays the 1st day when i managed
to play the D major scale on my
sax in time to the backing track.
playing 1/4 notes & 1/8 notes!
hopefully a couple more days & i
can start lesson 2!
it’s not a race JB, you’re doing it right!
Just read lesson 2 & watched the videos i found everything simple
clear and well described Johnny! But i’m glad you did the 2nd
video, particularly the bits where you play the sax! as my rythmn isn’t spot on with the sax – if its the guitar its the complete opposite.
I’m glad i watched it now, as i’m still working lesson 1, but the two
are very closely related! Lesson 2 is a very similar workout i do daily
with the chromatic scales from mid Bb up to high F and high F down to mid Bb chromatic scales wise
WoW Johnny – is this now the completion of lesson 2?
When you keep adding to it,
its like going in a candy store,
and finding new candy!
I’m now at the stage where i’m
ok to start lesson 2, but i’m
prepared to hold up if you are
going to add anything else to it?
Theory wise so far i haven’t had any problems, putting it into
practice just takes time – like
you say – its not a race!
thanks for going the extra mile!
That’s it for lesson 2 and the modes. I encourage everyone to know it really well and start improvising with only nthe modes. TYhere is more of course with the scales but modes are 50% of it.
