Final thing, a weird one !!
Rehearsal the other night. I’m standing, listening to the guitar players argue as to whether it in F or D , and I glance at the bookshelf.
Whole row of music books, piano, guitar, violin , theory etc. I pulled one out at random as it looked like a kind of fake book but without the obvious standards.
Asked if I could borrow it and passed back a set list that had marked a page. The page ….” Violets for your furs ” !!
Couldn’t believe it. The guy had never heard the tune, just a random slot. Some great tunes…” Stars fell on Alabama”….” Polka dots “…
Yeah !!☺

Jack Sprat could beat his drum,

so between the both of them
they managed to squeeze out a song.

But Sprats drum was square,
and Swifts horn was flat,
so when they both played
it just killed the cat.
