Hi sxpoet, creative – I like it. I enjoy Pink Floyd, Genesis and electronic music generally, so it’s something I would enjoy more stripped down, without the back-track.
Perhaps using a tapping cymbal track for rhythm instead? How about ‘Space blues on planet G’ as a title? Nice one, keep them coming.August 6, 2017 at 10:16 am #57703Anonymous
hi Jeff,
i haven’t done any improvising since last summer,
so i thought i’d just stick a backing track on,
then i did a couple sound tests with the ipad,
using too much reverb and echo, not intentional,
just couldn’t be bothered to mess about with the
garage band settings. so i didn’t expect it to play
back like that.Inprovising only needs to be recorded in one take,
you can hear altissimo g, and the higher note is an overtone
played on altissimo g.As for backing track, i didn’t have any other tracks available
in Basic blues G, so had to go with that one unfortunately.cheers
jamesAugust 7, 2017 at 11:55 am #57778Export. Hope I’ve not crashed a private conversation. I just wanted to say… YEAH !!
That’s excellent !! Agree with Jeff, you need ” something ” to dictate the pulse. I’d up the bass in the mix, but man ; well done !!August 7, 2017 at 11:56 am #57779Export…. Spell****…Sxpoet .

Hi Jak, regarding your comment on “crashed a private conversation”, no worries man!
‘Forum’ still means ‘Open public space’ and that’s why we comment here, so that others may add their wisdom, tips and comments to the conversation.
Email is for private conversations.
BTW – If you receive emails which you don’t want, try what I do and mark them as spam.
Then anything sent from that address in future, goes straight into the junk folder.
A no-stress solution which works well for me!Cheers
August 8, 2017 at 8:37 am #57831Thanks Jeff. Have to admit it came as a huge surprise. One minute, and over time , I’m helping a member as to choice of mpc.
Open up private mail….man, I thought Billy Graham was dead….August 9, 2017 at 12:55 am #57862Anonymous
Hi Jak. Yes, people today think that email accounts and cellphones are the places for dumping all unsolicited communication.
People won’t accept anything unless they are desperate for it, even if it is good, true and practical.
Johnny’s advice on saxophone playing is great, the problem is that it takes hours of practice to become competent, and we are always looking for a faster solution.
I am only becoming comfortable with my playing position and embouchure now, and it’s taken me nearly four years of playing. Cheers
