I have tried a Marc Jean I can honestly say it was brilliant and noticed the
difference right away in my sound, the reason i am waiting for one, the
guy a I purchased it from sent me the wrong model for my mp. it worked
fine and fitted ok, just want the one Marc Jean recommends for my Merlot mp.
Yea 100% recommend this lig.
I currently use a Rovner Versa and like it very much. I was intrigued when I read up on the Marc Jean that it uses wood pegs.
Yes the wooden pegs fit against the reed ( wood to wood)
and that is the thinking behind the design, also 2 thin strips
of cork which contact the mp to stop any marks or scratching
of the piece. Quite expensive for what you get but I love it.
i just got 2 BG duo ligs, silver and rose gold. very nice how they only touch certain points on the MP
Woa – very nice looking !
Those are nice looking ligatures Brother. Like my Versa I like the the single thread for tightening.
the BG is sweet i was considering the other one, but how many Ligs does one need, thats the question,
One for each mpc ?? The JLV ( ??? ), looks very cool, if not a little complicated. Wouldn’t fancy a fast reed change using that…lol !! I don’t get too worried about them….
Lawton….inbuilt lig.
Wolfe Tayne original….screw lig. ( rare )
50,s Berg…..original, but different to later Bergs.
Jaksax original…work in progress.
Its saying something, when the lig is half the price of the mpc. I was watching a great player on you tube the other day. I’m convinced, he had wrapped twenty or more elastic \ rubber bands around the mpc. Sounded great !! I’ll try to find him a little later, see what you think ??
