Jak – Ammons and Von Freeman were the founders of the Chicago School of Tenor Saxophone. When I heard this song I thought of Von Freeman. I like Ammons sound a lot. Lots of his music on Spotify.

Thanks Mel, I didn’t know that. Yeah Gene ” jug ” Ammons is fabulous. ” Canadian Sunset ” is another beautiful tune. Try to check out the Getz number also; I’m sure you’d like it.

Jak – I enjoyed the Getz song. Ammons played a Conn 10M early in his career before switching to a Mark VI. In the 50’s and 60’s he played a Brihart Ebolin Tenor Mouthpiece. Check it out. Amazing!
