Colemans’ left fingers hardly look like they are depressing any keys. I didn’t think the sax key height could be set that low without affecting intonation…
ya good point. but check out Parker’s fingers during those fast runs, seems like they’re moving even less. makes sense when you think about it though, cause he wouldn’t be able to play that fast if his fingers were flying high all over the place.
I love watching these two guys in particular because it’s the older school guy who was a key inovator in his day with the newer guy who changed jazz improvisation forever.
Wow, I love the Sound of the Tenor. Still looking around to find the most appropiate MP. Does anyone knows with MP he is playing? With MP would give the most similar Sound ?
Simply effortless!….wonderful!
pretty sure he used an Otto Link
i love my otto link on tenor…haven’t tried one on my alto, using a vandoren AL3 (great mp) on alto w/vd java red 3 reeds

i chose my yas62 (over selmer mk vi) 37 years ago because the action is so good/fast on yamahas, which i wanted so i could play thru Parker’s Omnibook…which I’m still learning all these decades later, lol…bird was great
