Have you seen the reviews on Neff music? He reviews medium and large chambers. Plus their are audios of the mouthpieces being played with various reeds.
November 20, 2017 at 7:41 pm #62698o yes he is great decider on most of my MPs sound clips , are the best , i just thought i would throw a couple out here
November 21, 2017 at 9:42 am #62742If you get the metal Vandoren- let us know how it sounds. I really like my rubber one so far because it feels like I got less mouthpiece in my mouth. A lot of the greats played a Link. There are some really good metal mouthpieces but the price tags are really good also.

Up until recently getting a great deal on a Link STM that plays great, I’d had my eye out for one of these (metal V16 medium chamber T7) at a good price too. The price on one with the Optimum Ligature is close to $400 here in the USA.
Well, I’m a memeber of a Sax Equipment Sales Group on Facebook and earlier today a guy posted a bunch of Vandoren Mouthpieces for sale. If you look, you’ll see he’s selling the metal V16 medium chamber T7 with the optimum ligature for $200 bucks. I don’t think you’ll find it much better than that. If’ I’d not just bought that used Link STM I would be all over it myself since the Optimum ligature alone is worth right at $100 new.
It made me think of you and your post here, so I wanted to share the opprotunity with you to take advantage of if you’ve not yet bought one:
If you do get one please post back here, as I’ve got the itch to play on one myself to see how they sound and play compared to a Link STM, both my newer one that’s had work done on it, and a vintage Florida STM.

November 26, 2017 at 6:36 pm #63116hi i just got a sweet deal on a V16 T7L with the optimum Ligature set all for 308.00
November 27, 2017 at 6:09 pm #63191well i got it, it is definitely a serious piece, well made , like a precious jewel perfect , came wrapped up professionally ,, came with the optimum ligature wrapped up just as great, extra plates, the works, a little finicky though, only accepts certain reeds no room for play — i played it it plays very well— its tone has dark qualities, big throat, but the sonority brightens it up, if i had to categorize this, i would say rock and roll or straight jazz in a big concert setting, ballads hmmmmm—-it is a little to loud for me at this point, but i need some more time it does hit the lows very nice,
