This popular holiday song “I’ll Be Home For Christmas” was written and recorded during world war 2. It was written from the point of view of a soldier overseas writing to tell his loved ones that he’ll be home for Christmas – if only in my dreams…as the lyrics go.
The original recording was done by Bing Crosby on the famous Decca recording label but since then done by literally hundred’s of singers and instrumentalists.
This version is done in a swingin’ blues shuffle which includes an improvised solo that is written out note for note.
This download version is in the concert key of C major. This puts the tenor sax charts in the key of D major. The alto sax charts are in the key of A major.
