I’ve been playing over 10 years on the Alto.
One thing i’ve noticed is lower strength reeds are harder to keep the HIGH notes in tune, they are very thin sounding and unsteady and continually go in an out of tune and its harder to play a steady strong long note.

Should have bought a Rocking Chair then you could duck every time a heavy object comes your way while playing the sax, and divert your mp3’s into out-ter-space.

I keep getting bogged down with colds and what not, so my practice routine is somewhat random this past year.

Recorded using 2 Different types of Condenser Microphones, on separate Mono Tracks – one suspended vertically 3 feet above the ground, the other lying horizontaly 2.5 feet above the ground, both mic’s being a distance of 2 feet away from the sax.

The timing and wrong notes, meant i couldn’t record it properly using Johnny’s backing track. So i just stuck a drum track and organ track with the sax. Used a ‘Hall effect’ reverb on the Sax to make it sound played in a hall. The wonders of DAW’s can transform the sax to sound differently in many ways.
