Went to a local open mic last night. Got asked to sit play with a couple groups as saxophone is a rarity in these parts. End of the night jam, neil Young’s “Like a Hurricane” and some Fleetwood mac tune I didn’t recognize. I blew like a hurricane on the Young tune… Here’s where just turning on the radio and trying to play along with what is on shows it’s value. I listened, figured out what would work and then let ‘er rip when I had the chance. Some nicely placed growl, some repetition, and an F#3, and they loved it.

Honestly I never thought I would be playing sax on a Neil Young tune. lol

Oh and here is a conversation with a guy at the bar
he says”You’re our first sax player here in about a year and a half.”
My girlfriend says ” So what sax player was here before?”
      He says ” no one.”

      gotta love it.

Now Im getting requests for solo stuff, and Europa…. will have to dust that one off.

      Keep Honkin’!
