      For the majority of us, the FREE software by Audicity will cover all of our recording, mixing and playback needs and beyond.

      It’s available for download at the link below, and is easy to install and get operational.

      One feature included in Audicity’s functionality is the ability to change the tempo of a song without changing the pitch. This allows students to slow the music down to a more comfortable tempo as an entry point to learn a new song or riff. You can also increase the tempo beyond it’s normal rate if you want to really be sure you have it nailed…solid…and in the bag.

      I’ve attached an example of one of Johnny’s recordings that has the tempo reduced by 25%.
