Yay, Leo, a gorgeous, moving rendition – it seems such a breeze for you to post these breathy airs!

You are sure inspiring others to get it together and, further, to post something ourselves soon too.

Thanking you! For your help whereupon this very day. 🙂

[ Ya, from a recent post @ Best Saxophone Website Ever, Doron Orenstein =

“When you know the lyrics to a tune, you have some kind of insight as to it’s composition. If you don’t understand what it’s about, you’re depriving yourself of being really able to communicate this poem.”

        – Dexter Gordon ]

        LYRICS

“Help Me Make It Through The Night”

Take the ribbon from your hair
Shake it loose and let it fall
Lay it soft against my skin
Like the shadows on the wall
Come and lay down by my side
        Till the early morning light
All I’m takin’ is your time
Help me make it through the night

        I don’t care what’s right or wrong
        I don’t try to understand
        Let the devil take tomorrow
Lord, tonight I need a friend
        Yesterday is dead and gone
        And tomorrow’s out of sight
And it’s sad to be alone
Help me make it through the night

I don’t care what’s right or wrong, (Yes, I do!)
        I don’t try to understand
        Let the devil take tomorrow
Lord, tonight I need a friend
        Yesterday is dead and gone
        And tomorrow’s out of sight
Lord, it’s bad to be alone
Help me make it through the night

Hey Saxomonica thanks a lot for all of that, really appreciate it, the videos are fun to do and like Johnny always says you can learn a lot from recording yourself and always trying to improve. Looking forward to one of your songs. Leo

              Well played Leo!

A lot of songs now-a-days seemed to have lost the art of writing meaningful lyrics, they tend to repeat the same bunch of words over and over. I think ‘Come Together – by the Beatles’ was an example of them showing you can produce a hit song with a load of meaningless lyrics?

Very nice Leo, that use of older vibrato sounds great. I’m working on keeping my fingers closer to the keys right now–you do a great job with that too; you’re fingers aren’t too far away from the keys. Johnny gave me a good tip that can help me out to learn to keep my fingers close to the keys. What Mouthpiece/reed do you like to use?

Hello Ronnie, I use a Selmer S80 c* with a fiberreed Hemp, medium reed. Like it the best of all the fiberreed reeds.
