A couple of months ago I bought a Metal Meyer Jazz (7J) mouthpiece. I absolutely love it, it have a great clean tone and it allows you to play really powerfully but still be in control. I would definitely recommend this mouthpiece to anyone that likes clean powerful sounds. Keep in mind, an opening of 7 is very large so it makes reeds play harder than they do on a 4C for example. I used to play a size 4 reed on my 4C and 6C mouthpieces so I have now changed to a 2.5 reed on this one.

Jazza: I’m also looking into the Meyer Metal Jazz mouthpiece. Could you tell me a little about the baffle and chamber? I’m trying to decide between a 7J and and 8J. My old Berg Larsen HR was closer to the 8J. Any info about your experiences with the Meyer Metal would be greatly appreciated.
