Hi folks, I’ve been “lurking” for awhile, reading and listening to audio samples and videos. Some great playing by members of this forum. I play mostly Rock/Blues/Funk/Rockabilly, my current set up is a Viking M58S unlacquered tenor with a 10M Boss 9* metal mouthpiece although I’ve also become very fond of the new Jody Jazz SuperJet metal (8*) I picked up recently. I’m actually able to consistently hit altissimo notes with the JJ and a 3M Select Jazz reed, without having to suffer with low note questionability. Nice mouthpiece, can be a little thin but adjusting my mouth placement has improved the tone considerably. I also play a one of a kind Viking M58S solid nickel silver tenor, it’s quite nice looking if you’re into silver finishes, incredibly punchy sax. Looking forward to meeting more of the members!
