Tim – an ochestra in the town i live, is starting up a swing band
in a couple of weeks, i got invited along, and i think there are
40 people going – made up of sax, clarinet, double base, brass & percussion players. i haven’t got a clue what they will be playing!
I hope its not going to be play a note – as you mentioned!

The teachers are right what they say – play in a band if you get the
choice! I’m not a jesus freak, but i joined a church band just to play my guitar in it – that was an eye opener! The 1st thing i learnt – being in
a band you have to be a team player.

Here you go everyone. Great stuff from Joe Huston. A DJ in LA when I was growing up played this to start his show and ended it with Sleep Walk. Fun! Tim

Sounds like a good way to set the mood for the programme.

Here you do! This has the Tenor all the way through. The solo is very nice! Enjoy More to come out of Southern California surf music.

Terrible sound on that one but a good example for anyone that’s wanting to learn how to solo. This one has my “Learn How To Solo Using Only 3 Notes” lesson beat by 2 notes! The first 2 choruses he’s soloing using only one note. It’s a good way to start, then changing up on the rythme and then adding another note etc.

                      Good Tip! thanks
