I am 51 years old and started playing about 4 years ago. I play mainly Jazz but just joined a group were some Rock and Roll playing is required :0) and there is no better source than Johnny’s page.
I play tenor and a bit of flute, my horn is an SML gold medal from 1959 silver finish, this horn has seen a lot of gigs with its previous owners and I feel priviledge to be able to play it now. I used a Theo Wayne Brahma mouthpiece, which i very well suited to Jazz and Ballads, i need to really drop my jaw to make a loud Rock sound, but I am getting there! I do have an SML gold medal Alt as well, this one from ’61. They say the SML are the poor mans horn, but I find this horns excellent and they ate just me
