Arrived today.I`m pleased with the bass response without sacrificing upper register.
This is supposed to be an MBII copy.
It has a step baffle and is made from
an odd alloy that seems to work nicely.
I would like an opinion from someone who plays the genuine articel [Like Johnny for instance]
Not a major investment..it`s $100 on ebay. -

Contacted Mr Hartmann and rec`d ther following:
“Hi David,Yes, you have to be a little more careful with the copper in the Onyx . They are not the same strong as the Hemp or the carbon Fiberreed.

I`ve been practicing with this reed for a couple days now..today response was horrible.
If someone can tell me how to upload a photo you can see the tip has a big chunk gone.
I have used them all.The carbon onyx has been my favorite
At $30 a piece i expect a more robust product.
Awaiting a response from the wedge company.. -
