I had logic pro. It was so complicated. I threw it away and burned the disks in the front yard. I prefer garage band and I don’t use any GarageBand effects. I rely on my preamp. johnny told me to keep every thing flat in GarageBand and use my preamp. Don’t even use the gain on my interface. Just use my preamp.Just me, my horn, and, you know, my…[Read more]

I’m reluctant to upload a soundcloud item because I don’t know how to delete the uploaded item. Any body know how to delete in soundcloud. Many people are asking the same question.

The Guardala King Tenor Mouthpiece is my best mouthpiece. I recommend it. I’ve been working on my sound and the King is the King.

HI johnny
My mic is about 4 feet from me and about 6 feet from the floor. I’m sitting as I play. So the mic is about 4 and half feet above the bell. I’m using the King mpc. Recorded sound is a lot better. I still needs a bit of improvement. Just s bit, The room walls are hard adobe plaster. The celling is wood pine and the floor is concrete so…[Read more] -

Re sheet music to “Bring it On Home to Me”. 12 beats to a measure, 8th note gets a beat. This is for my own mental gymnastics. So 1st measure has dotted half rest, equal to 5 beats; followed by a dotted quarter rest equal to 3 beats; followed by 3 8th notes equal to 3 beats. Total beats 5 plus 3 plus 3 equal 11 beats. What am I not counting?

HiJohnny
I moved the mic back about 3 ft. and higher. Sound a lot better. I’ll experiment with the distance and gain etc. What you advised me to do will work out fine. Thank you -

Putting the mic 3-4 feet from sounds good. I’ll do that next time I have the horn out like tomorrow. Today I was blowing a lot of Sam Cooke and Hungry Eyes from Dirty Dancing. Thanks Johnny

Sound is improving. I moved the mike near the holes and above the bell, Maybe 2/3 up the bore. And I adjusted the gain on the preamp. and the trim. Added the Silk. Still working on it. and tomorrow the High Pass filter. So little by little I’ll lose the bucket sound.

Thanks Johnny
First I’ll move the mike around like above the bell up along the sax sound holes. Work with the gain on the preamp. I’ll keep using GarageBand track for feed back -
