I have the Texas Tornados backing tracks to “Who Were You Thinking Of”: No sheet music; just me and the backing track and lead singer. Backing track is in the key of G major. I am blowing in the key of A major “Who were you thinking of…when we were making love last night…”etc Any ideas? I’m thing I blow starting in C#

Today I threw Johnny’s sheet music “Last Date” into the mix. Some times instead of going from A to low C back up to middle E I take it down to low E and back up to G.

I was working on “The Party’s Over” (Willie Nelson) while waiting on the backing tracks for “You’re Wondering Now” from Amy Winehouse ‘s Back to Black featured in the TV series “Death in Paradise”.

I’m working on “The Party’s Over”. I’m playing it in A major. I have to use middle A since I don’t have a low A. The sheet music is in A major. The backing track is in G so the tenor plays it in A major. The song is in my Aebersold jazz book but it’s not the song/music that I’m using. i prefer Willie Nelson’s version. I’ll have to use the octave…[Read more]

Thanks stopping by sx poet
That Yamaha studio recorder was quiet a beast. Sounds like you knew what you were doing. I once had Studio. So now I’m sticking with GarageBand. Cheers

“For The Good Times” written by Kris Kristofferson. I recorded this about 8 years ago on my yamaha studio 24 channel digital mixer recorder. Playing along with the late Al Hirt. I don’t have the Yamaha anymore, “For The Good Times” old year out and new year in.

I could make CDs.So manny controls. I managed to make some mp3’s. On one track I put some Al Hirt’s trumpet and I recorded my sax on…[Read more] -

Trying to upload an mp3 to sound cloud and pass it over to Johnny’s saxophone site takes al day. Hopeit plays well. My dog Rainman is…[Read more]

Ok John
I ‘m working on it. Right now I’m adding a few ornamental notes like mordents. I can’t play the sax too long since the household becomes upset with too many repeats. Like the cat said when he put his tail on the railroad track: Won’t be long now
