I’ve been practicing a tune written by Jerry Butler, recorded in the 60’s by Bill Medley under one name, and by Tony Orlando and Dawn using another name. Same song by different names. I have a backing track I might use. I like Bill Medley’s version of this Jerry Butler tune. I might record it. Soooooo. your job is: NAME THAT TUNE

Often when I use Side D on the tenor sax the horn tends to turn a bit to the right making it hard to use Side D

So today I blew my Michael Brecker I mouthpiece. So I have three of the best mouthpieces. Michael Brecker I. Michael Brecker II fatboy, and the King. My reed is the fiber Onyx. Starting off with the soft Onyx. Eating on standby for later is the medium soft onyx, and copper. The Guardala mouthpieces are the best

Today I practiced with an Onyx soft reed with some of my mouthpieces the King, the Theo Wanne Durga 5, and the fatboy. Playing songs like Sting’s Field of Gold in E major, Eres Tu in F major, Fernando in F major, Always on my Mind in F major. Hard to blow low C with the Durga. So as usual I ended playing the fat boy. “It’s Not Unusual” is today’s practice. I also added “Help Yourself” to the list. “It’s Not Unusual” is in the key of D major. “Help Yourself” is in Eb and later up a half step to E major. “Help Yourself” is another Tom Jones tune. My mouthpiece today is the “Fatboy”. I was using the “King” but today is the “Fatboy”.
