I switched to Alto and found it a lot easier than Tenor although its still a challenge. I think slow and diligent is the way to go.

Hi Johnny, I’ve had a try at working it out from the record. I can get some parts of it but not enough to be confident that it will sound Ok.

Hi Johnny, I’ve seen this same model priced between £1350 – £1800. There are a couple of dings but the seller says the sax has been services recently. Is there a good way of checking for leaky pads? I’ve heard people talk about using a light to find them but I wont be able to do that when I trying it out in the guys house.

I play a TJ “Horn Classic” Tenor which is my first ever Sax. I’ve had it for just over 2 years now and my tutor thinks it’s great for an entry level Sax.
I found that changing the mouthpiece ( to an Otto Link 6) made a huge difference,it seemed to bring the sax to life, compared to the mouthpiece that came with it.
Everyone who hears it says it sounds great and my tutor think its only worth changing if I upgrade to a Selmer Mk6 or SA80.

Hi RandyVan and Johnny, if you mean this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ub72eylahJg at 16 and 27 seconds then I’m having the same problem. I sometimes get it by accident but can’t get it to happen when I want it to.

Hi Johnny, you’re right I’m getting my high notes mixed up with altissimo.
You are spot on with the problem I’m having getting past the high E.
Thanks for the advice I’ll check out the lessons and try to get more air through the Sax.
                    Thanks again for the help.
                    cheers
                    Big Al

p.s. Any chance of you coming to England?
