While practicing “Bridge Over Troubled Water” I’m also blowing “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” in the key of G major on my tenor sax. I have it in various keys e.g F major, D major. I prefer to blow it in G major but I don’t have a backing track in the key of F major. Maybe Johnny will post “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” later this year. In the…[Read more]

I’ve watched all of Yellowstone and all the prequels, 1823 & 1923 and I’ve been blowing the proper music – RHINESTONE COWBOY. So on my music stand is Rhinestone Cowboy. The backing track is in C major so that puts the tenor sax in D major

I have the Texas Tornados backing tracks to “Who Were You Thinking Of”: No sheet music; just me and the backing track and lead singer. Backing track is in the key of G major. I am blowing in the key of A major “Who were you thinking of…when we were making love last night…”etc Any ideas? I’m thing I blow starting in C#

Today I threw Johnny’s sheet music “Last Date” into the mix. Some times instead of going from A to low C back up to middle E I take it down to low E and back up to G.

I was working on “The Party’s Over” (Willie Nelson) while waiting on the backing tracks for “You’re Wondering Now” from Amy Winehouse ‘s Back to Black featured in the TV series “Death in Paradise”.

I’m working on “The Party’s Over”. I’m playing it in A major. I have to use middle A since I don’t have a low A. The sheet music is in A major. The backing track is in G so the tenor plays it in A major. The song is in my Aebersold jazz book but it’s not the song/music that I’m using. i prefer Willie Nelson’s version. I’ll have to use the octave…[Read more]

Thanks stopping by sx poet
That Yamaha studio recorder was quiet a beast. Sounds like you knew what you were doing. I once had Studio. So now I’m sticking with GarageBand. Cheers
