Carbon Onyx reeds have always been the best for me. Copper reeds too. I have drawers full of varius cane reeds and other synthetic reeds. Onyx and copper are the best for me. My favorite mouth piece today is the MB Fatboy

                  My set up today.
A long long time ago I bought a silver goose neck for my tenor. Yesterday I put the silver goose neck on the horn. Sound was a lot better. My practice songs this week are “Always On My Mind”. Practice notes are low C# low B. I’m using my MB Fatboy and a ligature that came with one of the MB mouth pieces. I think Johnny blows straight 8ths instead of swinging 8ths when he plays “Always On My Mind”. So I’m getting a lot of practice with my silver goose neck and my MB fatboy. Also I’m blowing “All Time High” and “For The Good Times”. Cheers

1979 I bought a used Conn tenor in a going out of business store. I knew nothing about saxophones. There was a key for every note. Good idea.10 years later i bought a Selmer Paris. I learned to read music in Jazz camp and here we are blowing “Always on my Mind’ with Mordents
